Our goal at Clearpath Specialty is to promote safety in the workplace and help navigate recovery and returning to work when an employee is injured on the job.

Injured on the Job?

Steps to Follow

Be prepared when an on-the-job accident or work-related illness happens by following these steps:

  1. Seek immediate, appropriate medical attention at the nearest medical facility if warranted.
  2. Report the injury to your immediate supervisor as soon as possible. Your supervisor will ask you about the cause of injury and note any unsafe working conditions and/or equipment to prevent the accident from happening again. All accidents should be reported – no matter how minor the incident. This will help identify hazards and prevent future injuries. Reporting promptly helps prevent problems and delays in receiving benefits.
  3. Check with your employer to verify that someone has completed and submitted a Report of Injury Form to Clearpath Specialty or Harford Mutual Insurance Group.
  4. You will be contacted by the Claims Examiner who is assigned to your claim.

REPORT AN INJURY

Medical Care

Your Physician

Our goal is to get you seen by a physician as quickly as possible.  Each state handles the selection of an authorized treating physician differently.  Your Claims Examiner will go over this process with you during their initial contact call.  If your injury requires emergency or urgent care, please seek treatment at the closest emergency room or urgent care facility as quickly as possible.

Medical Bills

If you receive any medical bills, please contact your Examiner.

Light Duty/Return to Work

Talk to your employer about the possibility of returning to work early through a Light Duty/Return to Work program. Light Duty programs include modifications like reduced hours or limited scope, giving the employee the opportunity to feel productive, avoid salary and skill interruption, and continue contributing to their organization and their team.
